The aroma of the sweet deliciousness baking can be smelt down the street

Every time people enter my bakery and get overwhelmed by the amazing smells that lead them in…vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, mint… They say, “Do you have a candle that smells like that?” “Not yet” I would answer. But now is a perfect time to make your home smell just as dreamy. Nothing is better than walking into someone’s home that smells of fresh-baked yummy holiday cookies, cakes and pies. But what if you don’t cook, or don’t have all my new baking mixes from the bakery yet?  You can still get that great flavor in your house without chemicals from sented candles and artificial air fragments that contain many toxins. All without lifting a spoon.

Here are some quick easy and oh so smelly delicious suggestion:

Make your own Holiday Spray
Mix about 20 drops of your favorite essential oils to 8oz of water in a spritz bottle. You can use oils like cinnamon, apple, orange, and my favorite–peppermint. Safe to spray in the air, or on the furniture.

Make your own Liquid Candle
A mason jar, some oil (any burnable oil works, even olive oil is fine), some aromatics like oranges, cinnamon sticks, vanilla bean, cloves, add a lantern wick–and boom! Homemade candle that’s cheaper than wax, and looks fancy too.

Make your own Scented Pine Cones
Remember the Holiday Spray we mentioned above? You can take that same spray and use it to scent your pines cones. Wash and dry your pine cones, spray them with the mixture, then put them in a plastic bag for 24hrs. And viola!

Make your homemade air freshener right from the stove
In a med pot combine some water, cinnamon sticks and some fresh nutmeg, and let simmer until the house smells good enough to eat.

There you have it! Your home smells like some Jennifer’s Way Cookies, even though you never lifted a finger.
